My Story

Hi, I’m Elissa, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I created Let’s Be Nourished after walking my own healing path, and my hope is to help others find a sense of possibility and peace around food, nourishment, and well-being.

My love affair with food started early. I’ve always played in the kitchen. Mixing, tasting, creating… it was my favorite kind of magic. As my culinary skills grew, something beautiful happened: people really loved my food. And even more than that, they started realizing they could love vegetables - really love them - in a way they never had before. That’s when I knew I was onto something.

In 2017, after months of pain and unanswered questions, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I was 31, and couldn’t get up and down off the floor without intense pain. I was heartbroken that I couldn’t play with my daughter the way I wanted to - and terrified of what the future held.

By 2019, I was on a mission to reclaim my health without relying on medication alone. I saw holistic doctors, chiropractors, nutritionists - anyone who might help. I became a yoga teacher to support both my body and my spirit, and leaned even deeper into food and healing. I pursued certifications in nutrition and trained in the kitchen until I eventually became an executive chef.

That journey transformed how I ate, how I lived, and how I viewed health.

In 2023, I began training as a health coach and earned my National Board Certification (NBC-HWC) in 2025. I wanted to bring coaching into the food world - because while diet plans are everywhere, real change happens when someone helps you explore what works for you.

Today, as Your Food Coach, I help overwhelmed moms and everyday eaters feel empowered in the kitchen, nourished in their bodies, and playful with their plates.

Whether it’s learning how to pack more veggies into your day, reclaiming joy in food prep, or building habits that support your energy - I’m here to help you do it your way, with warmth, flexibility, and zero pressure.

Through 1:1 coaching and group programs, we’ll work together to rebuild energy, restore balance, and make small shifts that lead to lasting change—without the pressure of perfection.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about coming home to yourself, one nourishing choice at a time.

  • A board-certified health coach is trained and credentialed through NBHWC to support clients in achieving their wellness goals through science-based, client centered strategies.

  • Health coaching focuses on goal-setting, behavior change, and lifestyle habits. It’s not a substitute for medical advice, therapy, or dietician services, but can compliment them.

  • No strict meal plans here. Instead, we work together to gradually increase nourishing, fiber-rich foods that work for your lifestyle and preferences.
